- be a way to meet new friends- I've met so many great people through this, and it honestly didn't occur to me that this would happen. That I would get to know you all, and consider you friends. Ones that I talk about TV with, or new books. Ones that I can meet up with for a drink, or hope to visit one day. And I love it.
- be something to help me discover more of me- Every time I start writing a new post, especially a more confessional one, it helps me learn more about myself. Discover what I truly enjoy doing, what I want to do, find my voice- one I didn't even think I had. I've grown to really enjoy writing over these past few months. It was never something I did before, unless I had to.
- be a relaxing activity ( I kind of find it soothing- a way to take off some stress of my life)- I find reading other blogs, as well as just writing and working on my own relaxing sometimes. A way to take my mind off of other things, put effort into something else and just be me.
- be SO MUCH FUN- yes it's relaxing, and sometimes stressful, and it usually takes up more of my day than I wanted it to, and partly because it is actually a lot of fun. I like catching up with new posts, reading what everyone did over the weekend. When I actually do it, I have fun chatting on twitter, responding to new tweets. I like taking pictures, thinking of new activities to do with my friends- I really enjoy writing. And I have fun sharing things too. It's nice to have a place to vent, grieve, shine.
- start my bucket list.- blogging has introduced me to so many cool places, countries, towns, shops. It's shown me a fun way to wear my hair, the best fall boots, and interesting new music. With blogging I've started a bucket list, places I want to travel to, food I should make/try, given me new stores to play at and activities to do with family and friends. And list is always growing!
It's weird to look back and think about what you thought blogging would be versus what it has become. I've enjoyed the ride so far and hope to keep on it for quite sometime...
Great list. I completely agree that blogging has introduced me to so many wonderful people that I get to call my friends and they've introduced me to so many cool places and recipes and websites.
ReplyDeleteI started my bucketlist because of my blog too!! it can be relaxing, a great way to get things off your chest!
ReplyDeleteI love that - "discover more of me". It's so true! Blogging has surprised me in many ways - all good!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Friday!!!
Great list! It is relaxing / acts as a great outlet to vent on all at the same time! I rarely wind up publishing the venting posts after writing, since the act alone of writing has calmed me down!
ReplyDeleteThis gets me
ReplyDeleteThe friends bit is definitely true. You don't know the power of social media until you use it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously- my friends keep commenting that I'm way more up to date on all sorts of trends these days, partly because I find out about everything from blogging!
ReplyDeleteI swear my bucketlist grows everyday from reading others blogs!
ReplyDeleteBlogging has been a fantastic surprise- I never thought it would be like this and I love it!
ReplyDeleteSame! I definitely have a few posts that just exist as drafts for me to vent- and sometimes it is nice to hit publish. You never know how others will be able to relate, someone could be in the same situation or have a comforting word to share.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks! When I started thinking about a blogging a friend told me that a good blog name was made of two unrelated things. It grew from that. I find it funny that I almost hated writing anything in school, and now here I am writing pages and pages every week!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that! It gets me too!
ReplyDeleteSocial media has blown my mind- I never had conversations via twitter until I started blogging!
