Picture This Moment

I've been running around a bit like a crazy person, plus was madly hungover yesterday due to a ladies wine night on Tuesday that ended in the wee hours of the morning. I'm not quite sure what it is about Tuesday nights, but things always end up crazy when I'm with my friends (one time we ended up at a strip club.. but that's another story). This Tuesday included watching Pitch Perfect for the millionth time, and my poor friend K still not actually being able to see what it was about... sorry! I did let her borrow it though so hopefully she can finally enjoy it all. We also had some intense conversations about women's rights, and men being butt munches. And somehow my giant birthday book was dragged out while we analyzed our astrological predictions. (some descriptors were spot on for all of us- creepy!)

I'm also working on some other posts that are still coming together which kind of explains the lack of them... maybe? Anyways- thought I would throw out some of the last few pictures on my phone, for fun. As usual they are mostly of children and animals. Enjoy!

A Day in the Life

M-F for me is crazy crazy crazy, I leave for work early, get home late and usually have a million things to do in between...Here is my typically day (I'm using this past Monday as an example)

6:30 AM : My alarm goes off- I dress quickly, feed the cats, grab bfast and check my email

6:55:-7 am: I walk out the door and to the subway. At the station I read theSkimm- sign up for it, now- and catch up on the news and then take either the 2 or 3 train to work, whichever comes first.

7:20am : Stop for coffee- this step is very important!

7:30 am: Walk into work- If Big J isn't awake yet, I wake him and prepare his breakfast. I also make lunches, get Little J up and dressed, Big J dressed, brush teeth, pack bags and snacks.

8:30 am: We all walk out the door and to the Bus Stop
typically bus ride

9 am: I drop the kids at school and head back uptown to do some grocery shopping

9:30-12 pm: Grab groceries, make dinner, tidy up the apartment, make beds, do any online shopping/refills, make any needed appointments, put pictures into a new album, wash kids winter coats and hats.

12-2:15 pm: I take a break! Grab lunch, blog my heart out, pop in the yoga dvd

2:15 pm: Pack up swim stuff and head to the subway to pick up the kids

2:45-4:15 pm: Grab kids from day care, ride bus to swimming. Change everyone super fast- Big J does private lesson with teacher, Little J and myself do the Baby and Me class. Finish swimming, change clothes and run back to work.

4:15-6 pm: Play with kids, finish anything that is needed for dinner.Big J does a yoga dvd, while Little J has speech.
my favorite yoga dvd for kids- buy it here!

6-8 pm: Eat dinner, playtime, and baths- everyone gets changed into PJs.

8-8:30 pm: Clean up from dinner and misc. around apartment, pick up toys, run dishwashers, prep for breakfast and lunch tomorrow.

8:30 pm: Go HOME!

9-9:45 pm: Get home, relax, feed the cats, have a glass of wine, read a book for a few minutes and then pass out.

what I find when I come home when I leave my house in a hurry
Everyday varies- there are always different activities in the afternoon and Wednesday are super crazy because we have some classes in the morning, but you get the gist. It is long and busy but for the most part I love it!

What does your day look like?

Marching on Out

Woah- News Flash: Today is the last day of March, in case you hadn't checked your calendar. A lot has happened to me this month- a lot of good things, not any bad things- that I can think of... The blog is growing, I am very excited for that- and I have been able to save some money, start a decent work-out plan and am staying on top of my fitness more. I was able to spend time with my mom and sister, one of my best friend's got engaged- I had some fun adventures with my friends, I explored part of Brooklyn, helped create some business for my business. All in all- not too shabby.

My no-cab goal/challenge has been pretty successful- I haven't done a great job of actually keeping track of how  much money I would have saved but I've only taken a cab once or twice to get home late at night and to carry some heavy things. I've haven't taken a cab once to pick-up the kids, which has not only helped my wallet but also given me some more exercise.

I'm really enjoying my new fitbit- with it I've been a lot better at drinking water every day- and I really like the calorie/weight-watching food portion of it. If you are looking for a way to keep track of your fitness, water, sleep, calorie in-take- I would definitely recommend this.

I spent a lot of this weekend relaxing, and hanging out with the cats- they missed me last weekend... I'm finally caught up with The Walking Dead (omg, why do I have to wait until October for it to be back on!!)
Rainy Weekend Blues....
But... I got to use my new corgi umbrella!

Happy Sunday!
I feel like April is going to be a successful month in all things- work, the business, the blog. I'm keeping my same goals to incorporate more fitness into my life, stop taking cabs, try and limit my shopping. I'm excited the weather is getting warmer- I just bought a bunch of cute new dresses from Loft and Gap and am ready to wear them!

I hope everyone had a great March as well, and here is to a fantastic April!

Pets are People Too

Wandering around in the blogger world today I found a great link-up, Pets are People Too and oh how this is true. Yesterday I mentioned I was a crazy cat lady- we have always had cats in my house growing up (we did have one dog when I was younger) and I currently have two of them living with me, Sadie and Phoenix. Both are crazy in their own ways but are super loveable and I have yet to introduce them to anyone that they haven't liked. In fact, when someone tries to tell me they don't like cats- I tell them they haven't met mine yet.. They love to snuggle, cuddle, give kisses, and talk- a lot. I have full-blown conversations with them everyday. Mostly about how yes I am going to feed them and no they will not waste away before the food gets into their bowls. They are great company for each other (total besties) and for me and my roommates as well. It is so nice to have a furry friend to sit with on the couch or keep your toes warm at night.

Best Friends!

Snuggle buddies!

Sadie loves watching it snow!
